Dogs are a man's best friend or so they say. However, you must ponder over a few points if you're thinking of owning one. If not trained well, puppies can totally wreak havoc in your house and neighborhood.

As you'll see in every other creature, puppies too have a particular behavior pattern. They can become a nightmare for you and your neighbors if you don't train them well from the beginning. A good amount of patience is required to train a dog. It's important to train a puppy in the first few months itself as it's the time that will decide if your puppy becomes a member of your family or not.

We'll explore some steps to train your dog the easy way in this article. The process of training your puppy will become total fun if you just follow some of these tips.

A very important note to keep in mind is that it is relatively easier to train your dog the easy way in his first four-five months. Don't delay puppy training ever. Training in the early stages will ensure that your puppy is well behaved and understands your commands later on.

Next, you should use short but focused sessions of training. These could be 5-15 minutes maximum. You have to make sure that the puppy suddenly doesn't start doing something else in between of the training.

Also, you need to be balance: praise them when they follow commands or try to understand what you are saying. When it doesn't, give it a tough look and say 'no'. Be careful though, don't end up screaming or hitting your dog. Aggressive behavior will make them become aggressive when they grow up.

A puppy, due to its normal eating habits, will chew everything you give him, or everything that he sees. When he is chewing something he is not supposed to, give him a stern look; however, when he's chewing something he is supposed to, praise him too.

From the first few months, make your puppy acquainted with the social climate. The best way to do so is to take him outside whenever you go and let him mix with other people. Training him this way will make sure he doesn't unnecessarily bark when there are guests in your house.
